"The New Beginnings" Hair Growth Challenge

Hello everyone I have been meaning to post a Hair Growth Challenge for the longest time, now I am finally able to do so. This Hair Growth Challenge will ensure that we achieve the greatest amount of hair growth in 6 months and the simple rules which will deliver effective results are designed to hold us accountable. I would encourage everyone to participate (natural, relaxed, texlaxed, transitioning, etc) because although the rules are pretty simple, the end result which is longer and healthier hair will be well worth it. I would also be giving one lucky winner of the Hair Growth Challenge a bottle of my Wura’s Secret Hair Growth Oil so may be the best woman win (to qualify to win you must have a delivery address in Lagos, Nigeria). If you do not live in Lagos this should not stop you from participating as the end result is the greatest gift of all.

I am tagging this challenge “the New Beginnings Hair Growth Challenge”, who says we have to wait till the beginning of next year to start afresh. We actually have a chance to start each day as if it were the first day of the rest of our lives. The rules of this challenge are very simple as I want everyone to be able to follow them, for those of you starting out on caring for your hair this is an excellent guide to gaining longer and healthier hair. (I will include links of previous posts as a guide to each rule). So let us go ahead with the simple rules:

I have included pictures of my starting length and my bun which needs to be a lot fuller by the end of this Hair Growth Challenge.

Rules

Start the challenge with a trim, the amount of hair you choose to trim off depends on you. After that keep trimming at the barest minimum, avoid it if possible if you must trim then dusting of the hair is preferable. Dusting is where such a small amount of hair is trimmed that it falls through the air like dust. (I will be sure to do a future post on dusting and trimming) (If you have recently had a trim done no need to trim again for the challenge)

Wash and condition your hair every one or two weeks, you need to be consistent.

Do a pre-shampoo or hot oil treatment before washing and conditioning your hair (optional)

Moisturise and seal your hair daily. (or every other day if this suits you better)

Oil your scalp every day with a growth aid of your choice such as Wura’s Secret Hair Growth Oil, jojoba oil, coconut oil, olive oil, sweet almond oil and so on .

Keep your hair in buns, french twists, wigs and other protective styles to retain length at least 5 times a week. (You can do longer term protective styles such as weaves, braids. Just be sure to take the style down latest after three weeks - a month to wash/condition. Moisturise/seal and oil the scalp as often as you can - if your hair is in a weave try to go under the tracks).

Try as much as possible to air dry your hair after shampooing and conditioning it. Do not use any form of direct heat to style your hair in the form of flat irons. If you must blow dry your hair make sure you use the lowest heat setting or better still the cool setting. Roller setting is permitted as it is a form of indirect heat.

If you are relaxed or texlaxed, stretch your relaxers to at least eight weeks.

I believe six months is plenty of time to achieve a substantial amount of hair growth.

Start Date:  14th March 2016 (However I am giving everyone a grace period of two weeks to participate by entering their comments below)

End Date:  14th September 2016

There are two ways of participating in this challenge.

Leave a comment in the comment section below, like our facebook page, send your before and after pictures to wurassecret@gmail.com at the end of the challenge and you might be the winner of our Wura’s Secret Hair Growth Oil. (This part of the challenge is only open to contestants who have a delivery address in Lagos, Nigeria)

To increase your chances of winning it will help if you are a subscriber of this blog however this is not mandatory.

OR

Leave a comment in the comment section and let us grow our hair together.

You can print out the rules and stick them somewhere you can be reminded of them. You can share your questions, experiences and so on in the comment section below to encourage and help others.

I wish everyone a successful and rewarding hair growth challenge.

TONKABELLE, xoxo

The next year, the next day, the next hour are lying ready for you, as perfect, as unspoiled, as if you had never wasted or misapplied a single moment of your life. 5. Hi Wura,

I saw you at NITC last Saturday, but you'd left before I had the chance to say hello. :-)

This growth challenge sounds like a great idea. Alas, my hair has this habit of misbehaving when it's over-cared for. It seems to thrive when I pretend that I am not lokoing after it. Lol

Enjoy the rest of the week.
